If I had to pick one, it is the decision to start listening to audio books.
Why this helped me learn and grow?
It made me aware of the Elephant and Six Blind Men problem and broaden my perspective on life. Before this, I was a uni-dimensional thinker.
Whenever I had challenged myself to read more from physical books, the books would just gather dust on the racks. And, there is so much wisdom in biographies, psychology, neuroscience, behavioral economics that you miss out by not reading books. Each book is a virtual mentor you wish you always had.
However, reading physical books needed uninterrupted time that I didn’t have. I never could get past the 50th page of any book. That is a lost opportunity. Audio books solved that problem as I could listen and grasp the gist while driving / commuting or even gardening.
There are several purists who do not like the option of books on audio but I only look at it as a more practical option over not having time to read physical books. And, my life is so much better for my listening habit.
